Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric), a leading manufacturer of ductless and variable refrigerant flow cooling and heating systems, held its 2016 Diamond Partner Conference at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort (link is external) in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico, from March 19 - 22. The annual conference included more than 350 distributors, employees and guests who gathered to celebrate success and establish strategies for the upcoming year. Distributors learned that one of the main drivers for achieving success in 2016 is the opportunity for improvements related to supply chain management.

“Our innovations in technology and their application for the commercial and residential markets are giving us a competitive advantage in the HVAC industry,” said Mark Kuntz, senior vice president, Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Cooling & Heating Division. “For example, with the Diamond System Builder™, we are identifying trends in products being specified and improving forecasting and inventory management, all of which benefit our distributors and ultimately their customers.”

Participants attended presentations from Mitsubishi Electric senior executives as well as discussion groups and breakout sessions. In addition to the application of technology, topics covered included product development reviews, marketing strategy and tactics and successful selling processes. Guest speakers also offered insightful presentations, including former U.S. Navy Commander and author Mike Abrashoff (link is external), and Toby Morrison (link is external), senior director of insights, at Metrostudy – a Hanley Wood company.  

Top Awards
Mitsubishi Electric presents several awards each year during the conference to recognize the success of its channel partners in areas of sales, market development and service levels. The categories are: Diamond Partner of the Year, Business Unit Diamond Partners Award, Design Excellence Award, Crowning Achievement Award and Crowning Achievement Award – Millionaires Club.

This year’s prestigious Diamond Partner of the Year, which honors the channel partner that has performed above all others, was awarded to A/C Warehouse Inc. of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Business Unit Diamond Partners Awards are presented to a single channel partner in each of Mitsubishi Electric’s five business units.
